Every year during Lent, Catholics worldwide enter a 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. This sacred time invites us to reflect on our lives through the Word of God, break free from sinful habits through fasting, and truly transform our hearts through almsgiving.

During this holy season, Caritas Penang organizes the diocesan Lenten Campaign. By sharing the powerful stories of those we encounter and highlighting the dedicated work of our parishes and volunteers, we aim to inspire our community and turn hearts back to God. A vital driving force behind this mission is our Love Squads—passionate young people who are formed and empowered to lead Lenten initiatives within their respective parishes.

The almsgiving and donations we receive during this sacred time are crucial; they sustain our social mission throughout the entire year, allowing us to fund vital community projects and support vulnerable individuals across the diocese.
